On 04th.June,2010, the provincial industrial park – ChongZhou City Industrial Concentration Development Zone, the only one national-level Plastic Optical Fiber Engineering Laboratory officially founded, marking the official move of plastic optical fiber research and international top-end power of plastic optical fiber applications. For the upgrading of industrial technology in China, plastic optical fiber is widely used in high-field research and laid a solid basis for industrialization.
Break technology gap of the high-end applications
With the rapid development of Chinese telecommunications industry in recent years, plastic optical fiber get extensive applications in the decorative lighting, consumer electronics, transportation, industrial equipment and national defense construction, and promoting the plastic optical fiber communication system, short-distance communication becomes the mainstream technology. China already has the latest products which use plastic optical fiber as communication media for vehicle multi-media communication network and control system.
The plastic optical fiber application development at overseas has made significant achievements, and constantly increasing research into new applications, but in current developments in the country, there are still many technical bottlenecks. In the world, POF applications in the automotive, aircraft, industrial equipment has been very extensive; but in Chinese high-end applications, the product technology in this field is not much. Developing POF communication system and its supporting device products in various fields, for the whole research community and industry in China, has very important significance and urgency.
To reach the world advanced level in two or three years
The foundation of National POF Engineering Laboratory is applied to solve these specific technical issues. Combining with the knowledge and power of a group of engineering laboratory authority experts, China's plastic optical fiber industry is just like a pair of invisible wings plug in, POF industry will achieve new breakthroughs and will soon be catching up with advanced level in 2-3 years. |
